Students grades 9-12 are invited to enter the 2018-19 VFW Voice of Democracy essay contest. Participants will be eligible for scholarship funds. The theme this year is “Why My Vote Matters“.  All entries must be submitted prior to October 31, 2018.  Please visit the counseling office for more information.
Forensics starts THIS THURSDAY, Oct. 18, in the Media Center from 3:00-4:00.  Please try to make it as we figure out our team roster and begin to find pieces!  
For the next two weeks, the Social Justice Club will be focusing on voter encouragement! If that is something you are interested in, feel free to join us Tuesday the 16th or the 23rd after school in Ms. Hansen’s room, 505. Hope to see you there!

If you would like to be considered to attend a Washtenaw Community College campus tour on Nov. 9th during the school day, please stop down to the counseling office for more information.  This is for students who are thinking about attending WCC in the fall.

World cultures club will be celebrating Day of the Dead after school on Thursday, November 1 in room 503. If you like eating food, learning about other cultures, or anything you saw in the movie Coco, you should join us!
Do you like cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and more? You’re in luck! There will be a spooky Halloween bake sale held this week from Monday, October 15th through Friday, the 19th! All money raised will be used to purchase fleece for our annual blanket- tying event! All items will be between 25 cents and 2 dollars! Baked goods will be sold each morning before school by the front entrance and throughout the day in the halls. We’d love your support!
Women in Science will be Tie Dying their club shirt this Friday before school at 7:15 in Ms Jones’ room 301.  The cost is $5- Anyone can come to join us- please email Ms. Jones to reserve a shirt!
Attention students – Have you voted for the Detroit Free Press Offensive Player of the Week? If not, please go online, search the Detroit Free Press Offensive Player of the Week and select Colin Paracheck.  Voting lasts until Friday. Thank you!

If you’ve been waiting to hear when the Forensics Team is going to get started–your wait is almost over!  Forensics starts next week on Thursday, Oct. 18 in the Media Center from 3:00-4:30. Please try to make it as we figure out our team roster and begin to find pieces!

If you are registered for the PSAT this Saturday, please arrive no later than 7:45 and enter through the bus loop doors off of Shield Road. Doors will lock promptly at 8 am – no late entry! You may bring water & snacks for breaks, a photo ID, number 2 pencils, and a College Board approved calculator.  Cell phones will be collected and unavailable for use during testing. The test is scheduled until noon.

Congratulations to the Dreadnaught Marching Band for their success at the District Marching Band Festival. For the 10th consecutive year, the Band earned a First Division rating and A grades in all categories. Great job band!
